About Charles Pinckney National Historic Site

This National Park Service unit protects a portion of Snee Farm, a plantation and country retreat once owned by Charles Pinckney, a South Carolina political leader who helped draft the U.S. Constitution. Visitors can explore how Pinckney shaped Charleston, learn about the African people he enslaved, and see how the plantation operated as a working farm for more than two centuries. The historic house serves as the visitor center, and a short loop trail takes guests past cultural and natural features across the grounds.
