Cheaha State Park

19644 Hwy 281 · Delta, AL

Why you should go…

Cheaha State Park covers 2,799 acres around Cheaha Mountain, the highest point in Alabama, and has operated since 1933. You can climb Bunker Tower, a stone observation tower at the summit, or follow the wheelchair-accessible boardwalk to the Bald Rock overlook. The Civilian Conservation Corps built the stone bathhouse, cabins, trails and Cheaha Lake in the 1930s. Hiking and mountain biking trails start here, with a link to the Pinhoti Trail, and you can fish at the lake.
