Colonial Pemaquid Drive, New Harbor (Bristol), ME 04554 · New Harbor, ME
Colonial Pemaquid preserves one of northern New England's earliest settlements, a frontier village from the 1620s that was fought over by English, French and Native forces. The 17th-century village now shows as dips in the grass, and the museum displays finds such as a 400-year-old trunk, a German Bellarmine jug, coins and pottery. Climb the reconstructed Fort William Henry for the view from its roof. Adults pay $3 for Maine residents and $4 for others, and children under 12 are free.
