Crabtree, long known as Crabtree Valley Mall, opened in 1972 and is described as the largest mall in the Research Triangle. Macerich bought it in 2025, and the official site lists nearly 200 stores with Belk, Macy's, Apple, Dick's House of Sport and H&M. Dozens of restaurants include The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's and Seasons 52. The mall covers about 1.34 million square feet.
