About Dabbs House Museum

Dabbs House is a historic house museum with exhibit galleries and a research library. During the summer of 1862, the house was used as Confederate General Robert E. Lee's field headquarters. Visitors can tour the 1862 headquarters, browse the exhibit galleries and gift shop, and watch a video about the house. The property also served as Henrico's police headquarters from 1941 to 2005. The research library is available by appointment and mainly holds research tied to a two-volume Civil War history of Henrico County.
