About Freeman's Mill Park

Freeman's Mill Park sits along the Alcovy River and centers on a restored gristmill listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mill was one of the last working gristmills in Gwinnett and supplied flour, cornmeal, and feed for people and livestock over more than a century. The county restored the mill and the surrounding grounds for education and recreation. Visitors can explore ten exhibits, including a working demonstration mill, during public tours. The park also has a playground, a short paved trail, restrooms, and a waterfall area that can be rented for events.
