The Gibson House Museum is a private nonprofit house museum in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. The house was home to three generations of the Gibson family and their household staff from 1859 to 1954. Its four floors of period rooms, including the original kitchen, keep the furnishings, wallpaper, and family objects largely intact. Guided tours interpret social class and daily life through the stories of the people who lived and worked there. The house is a Boston Landmark and a National Historic Landmark. Tours include many stairs, and the building has no elevator or air conditioning.
