About Gilcrease Museum

Oilman Thomas Gilcrease opened a public gallery on his Tulsa estate in 1949, and the museum now holds about 10,000 works of art, 300,000 anthropology artifacts and over 100,000 books, maps and documents, with a focus on the American West. The City of Tulsa owns it, and the University of Tulsa has helped run it since 2008. The museum is closed while a $140.9 million new building and campus are finished, and it is set to reopen in March 2027. Admission prices have not been posted yet, so check gilcrease.org before you plan a visit.
