Glacier National Park covers over a million acres of northwestern Montana on the Canadian border, with glacier-carved valleys, alpine meadows and more than 700 miles of trails. You can drive Going-to-the-Sun Road over Logan Pass and stop at Lake McDonald, the park's longest lake at 10 miles. Watch for mountain goats, bighorn sheep and grizzly bears. The park stays open all year, though plowing the high roads after winter can take close to three months.
