About Greenbelt Park

Greenbelt Park is a 1,176-acre forest run by the National Park Service just inside the Capital Beltway, about ten miles from Washington, DC. Its campground has 172 sites with showers and restrooms at $20 a night, a cheap base for seeing the capital; reservations are required. Hikers and riders can follow the 5.3-mile Perimeter Trail, and the shorter Azalea, Dogwood and Blueberry trails run 0.8 to 1.5 miles. There is no entrance fee, and there are picnic areas for a day visit.
