About Meridian Hill Park

Meridian Hill Park, also called Malcolm X Park, is a 12-acre terraced park in the Italian style on a hill 1.5 miles north of the White House, between Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights. Its 13-basin cascading fountain is one of the longest in North America, with a reflecting pool below. Statues include Dante and Joan of Arc, the only equestrian statue of a woman in Washington. A drum circle that began after Malcolm X's death in 1965 still meets in the park.
