This Holocaust museum and tolerance center fills the ground floor of Welwyn, a Gold Coast mansion in Nassau County's Welwyn Preserve. Its permanent exhibition follows the history in order, with media players and QR codes, and most visitors spend about an hour. Outside, the Children's Memorial Garden, dedicated in 2003 and paid for in part by students who collected 1.2 million pennies, remembers the 1.5 million Jewish children murdered in the Holocaust. Galleries are recommended for ages 10 and up. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, students and veterans, and parking is free.
