Large city park in Montpelier with over seven miles of hiking and skiing trails and a historic stone observation tower.
Montpelier, VT
Hubbard Park is Montpelier's largest and one of its most popular parks. Montpelier's park lands began with it and Summer Street Park in 1899. The park covers more than 200 acres and offers over seven miles of trails for hiking and skiing, two picnic shelters, several picnic areas, a soccer and ball field, a small pond, and a sledding hill. A 54-foot stone observation tower stands at the highest point and gives views of Vermont's little capitol and the mountains beyond. Visitors can reserve shelters, and the park asks people to carry out all trash.
