26 Vast Lane · Berlin, VT
The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers, known as VAST, was founded in 1967 and maintains and grooms more than 5,000 miles of snowmobile trails across Vermont through a network of over 130 local clubs. Visiting snowmobilers must belong to VAST and a local club and purchase a Trail Maintenance Assessment to ride the trails legally, since most trails cross private land under landowner permission. VAST is headquartered in Berlin, Vermont, next to the state capital, and also manages the 93 mile Lamoille Valley Rail Trail for year round recreational use.
