About Johnson Hall State Historic Site
Sir William Johnson, the British Superintendent of Indian Affairs, built this Georgian house in 1763 and lived here with Molly Brant and their children until his death in 1774. It held council fires with the Mohawk and many other nations. The mansion and the West Stonehouse are original; the East Stonehouse is a reproduction. Guided house tours cost $7 for adults and start on the hour, while the grounds stay open sunrise to sunset.
