The Kings Mountain Historical Museum tells the story of its hometown through archives and objects gathered by local collectors and donors. Its home is the old post office on East Mountain Street, a Colonial Revival building finished in 1940 with Depression-era federal funding. Exhibits change throughout the year, so there is often something new to see. Special events sometimes open two historic houses behind the post office to visitors. The museum is run by a historical society, and admission is free. Visitors can reach the staff by phone or email for questions about the collection or membership.
