About Bechtler Museum of Modern Art

The Bechtler opened in 2010 at the Levine Center for the Arts to show the modern art collection of the Swiss-born Bechtler family, more than 1,400 works. Galleries cover mid-20th-century art by Alberto Giacometti, Joan Miro, Max Ernst, Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso. Swiss architect Mario Botta designed the four-floor building with a cantilevered top gallery. Outside stands The Firebird, a 17-foot sculpture by Niki de Saint Phalle covered in about 7,500 mirror pieces. Adult tickets are $10, and entry is free on Wednesdays from 5 to 9 p.m.
