This Iowa Department of Natural Resources park sits along the 1804 Lewis and Clark expedition trail. Visitors can hike several trails, including an accessible paved path along the lakeshore, and boat or fish on Blue Lake, which has a double boat ramp and no motor-size limit. A visitors center holds a full-size replica of the expedition's keelboat and is open seasonally. The lakeshore campground offers electric and full hookup sites, modern restrooms, showers, and a playground. A day-use lodge built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s can be reserved for gatherings. Drought has lowered the lake, so boaters are asked to take care and swimming conditions at the beach may be limited.
