About Macomb Reservation State Park

Macomb Reservation State Park covers 600 acres on the Salmon River, two miles west of the hamlet of Schuyler Falls and just outside the Adirondack Park. The land was once a military training area; New York bought it from the federal government in 1947, and the park was set aside in 1968 while the rest became state reforestation land. Summer brings a swimming beach, playground, playing fields, picnic pavilions and a campground for tents and trailers. You can fish in Davis Pond or the river and launch canoes and kayaks. In winter the nature trail and fields are used for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice skating.
