Marengo Cave was found by two schoolchildren in September 1883, and tours began within days. It is a National Natural Landmark with almost 5 miles of known passages. Two walking tours run all year: the 40-minute Crystal Palace through rooms full of formations and the 60-minute Dripstone Trail with soda straws and the Penny Ceiling. The cave stays at 52 degrees, so bring a jacket, and note the tours are not wheelchair accessible.
