About Meridian Museum of Art

The museum occupies a historic Carnegie library building downtown and focuses on artists from Mississippi and Alabama. It presents rotating exhibitions, including the annual Bi-State competition, along with youth and adult classes, gallery talks, artist talks, and community events. Memberships support its programs, and the space can also be rented for private functions. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and was converted to museum use in 1970.
