Mount Bonnell is one of the highest points in Austin, reached by a stone staircase of just over 100 steps up a limestone bluff above Lake Austin. The overlook has been a popular viewpoint since the 1800s and is especially busy around sunset. It sits inside Covert Park and is open daily during daylight hours.
