The Red Brick Museum sits in downtown Mukwonago and was first established in 1967. Its building was purchased with funds left by Arthur Grutzmacher. Original settler Sewall Andrews built the house in 1842, and it has been restored to look like a Victorian home from the years after the Civil War. The museum holds a large Native American collection, local photographs, letters, and oral histories, and it runs themed galleries covering the village and nearby communities. Visitors can open the museum on certain summer Sundays, and groups can arrange visits by appointment during the off season.
