Oheka Castle was built in 1919 by financier Otto Hermann Kahn as a private estate, designed by Delano and Aldrich, on the highest point of Long Island. It is now a hotel and member of Historic Hotels of America, with guest rooms and suites, formal gardens, and the OHK Bar & Restaurant. Docent-led tours of designated areas of the mansion and gardens run by reservation only, starting at 11am daily. Orson Welles used photographs of the castle as inspiration for Xanadu in Citizen Kane.
