Ouabache State Park sits along the Wabash River near Bluffton in Indiana. It began in the early 1930s as a wildlife game preserve and was later developed with help from New Deal work programs for wildlife management, forestry demonstration, and recreation. Visitors can fish Kunkel Lake, use a swimming beach when staffed, and walk five marked trails ranging from easy one-mile loops to a six-mile trail circling the property. A 20-acre bison exhibit, picnic shelters, a paved bicycle trail, and campsites with electric hookups are also available, and a lodge recreation building can be reserved all year.
