Roosevelt's Little White House

401 Little White House Rd · Warm Springs, GA

Why you should go…

Franklin D. Roosevelt built this six-room Georgia pine house in 1932, years after first coming to Warm Springs in 1924 for polio treatment, and he died here on April 12, 1945. The museum shows his 1938 Ford convertible with hand controls, his stagecoach and the Unfinished Portrait he was sitting for that day. You can also walk the Flags and Stones of America Walk on the grounds. For now the house, servant quarters and guest house are closed for renovation, while the museum and grounds stay open.

Good to know

General museums guidance

Habits that pay off across this whole category, not rules for this one venue. Always check the official site for the specifics.

  • Check the special exhibition separately

Touring shows usually carry their own ticket and their own opening hours, listed apart from general admission.

  • Look for the free window

Many museums run community days, member evenings, or discounted late openings. It is worth a look before you pay full price.

  • Travel light through the door

Large bags and backpacks often have to go to a coat check, and lines for it move slowly at opening.

  • Weekday mornings beat weekend afternoons

School groups clear out by early afternoon midweek, while weekends stay busy from late morning on.
