The tramway climbs 2.7 miles up the west face of the Sandia Mountains to an upper terminal at 10,378 feet, gaining about 3,819 feet in elevation. It is the longest aerial tramway in the Americas and includes the world's third-longest single cable span. The ride takes roughly 15 minutes each way and reaches hiking trails, a restaurant, and, in winter, the Sandia Peak Ski Area at the summit.
