Stewart Park sits on the shore of Cayuga Lake in Ithaca and is run by the City. Its history began on land once tied to an early estate, and it grew from an 1890s amusement park into a city park after the City bought it in 1921. Today visitors can use tennis courts, athletic fields, a spray pool, and a playground that includes a carousel. Pavilions are available to rent, and the park also has a duck pond and a bird sanctuary. Adjacent to the park is the Newman Municipal Golf Course.
