Table Rock State Park protects 3,083 acres at the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, below the flat-topped mountain it is named for. The Table Rock Summit Trail runs 3.5 miles and climbs about 2,000 feet, and the park is also a trailhead for the Foothills Trail. One of its two lakes, Pinnacle Lake and Lake Oolenoy, has an old-fashioned swimming hole open in summer. Many cabins and the lodge were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Entry is $6 for adults. While construction runs at the Nature Center, hikers register at the Concessions Area.
