DuPont State Recreational Forest

89 Buck Forest Rd · Cedar Mountain, NC

Why you should go…

DuPont covers about 12,400 acres in Henderson and Transylvania counties, with nearly 83 miles of multi-use trails and forest roads. Most visitors come for the waterfalls, among them Triple Falls, High Falls, Hooker Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, and mountain bikers ride routes such as Ridgeline and Cedar Rock. Scenes from The Last of the Mohicans and The Hunger Games were filmed here. Parking lots fill early in summer, so check the forest's trail closure list before you go.
