The property includes woodland, seasonal wetland pooling, and trails through a range of habitats. The center's work centers on education and study of the preserve, the river, and nearby wetlands and forest. Its programs include citizen science for young students, hands-on volunteer conservation projects, summer day camps, and a planned interpretive center. The Romine Residence on the property, built in 1953, is also available for long-term rental or event bookings.
