The Walters is a free public art museum in Baltimore's historic Mount Vernon Cultural District, built on the collections of William and Henry Walters. You can walk from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome through medieval ivories, illuminated manuscripts, Japanese arms and armor and Old Master paintings. Look for the two 3,000-pound Sekhmet statues and the Walters Mummy. The main entrance is on Centre Street near Cathedral Street.
