About Tyler Arboretum

Tyler Arboretum covers about 650 acres in Delaware County, on land one family held from a 1681 William Penn deal until 1944. Brothers Jacob and Minshall Painter began planting more than 1,000 kinds of trees and shrubs here in 1825, and their giant sequoia is the largest in Pennsylvania. About 17 miles of trails cross woods and meadows, and the collections include more than 500 rhododendrons, a pinetum and Pink Hill, a serpentine barren known for wildflowers. Adult admission is $18.
