USS Turner Joy

Why you should go…

USS Turner Joy is a Forrest Sherman class destroyer that served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1982 and was involved in the Gulf of Tonkin incident that escalated American involvement in the Vietnam War. The ship fired the last American naval round of the war in January 1973. It is now a museum ship maintained by the nonprofit Bremerton Historic Ships Association a short walk from the Bremerton ferry terminal. Visitors can explore about 90 percent of the ship on their own or with a guided tour, which takes roughly an hour.
