About Valley Stream State Park

Valley Stream State Park is a day-use park on Long Island in Nassau County, sitting beside a densely built residential neighborhood. Visitors can use picnic areas with tables, fireplaces, and grills, plus children's play spaces. Sports fans can find horseshoe pits, volleyball and basketball courts, and ball fields. Nature trails, including two named for squirrels and hickory nuts, let kids explore several habitats inside the park. A half-mile loop with 15 stations invites walkers to stretch and strengthen along the way. In winter, the park offers cross-country ski trails. The park also has one pavilion that can be reserved for gatherings.
