Betsy Head Park in Brownsville, Brooklyn, opened in 1915 on money left by Betsy Head, a Briton who died in 1907. Its Play Center, an Art Moderne pool and bathhouse built by the Works Progress Administration in 1935 and 1936, became a city landmark in 2008. The main pool measures 330 by 165 feet, and the pool and bathhouse are free to use. A 2021 renovation added a running track, turf field, skate park and parkour course beside the ball fields and courts.
