About Van Liew-Suydam House

The Van Liew-Suydam House sits on a rise in Franklin Township where two local roads meet, with views over farmland, woods, and the Six Mile Run valley. Peter Van Liew first settled the site in the 1700s, and Joseph Suydam later added on. The largest and newest section dates to 1875 and shows detailed Victorian woodwork on its porch and walls. Franklin Township owns the property, which the Meadows Foundation leases and has restored, inside and out, along with its barn. The house hosts events, and the foundation's calendar lists upcoming dates.
