About Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center

Located near Rudee Inlet in Virginia Beach, this aquarium presents thousands of animals representing hundreds of species, drawn from ocean depths and rainforest rivers. Visitors can explore North and South Building exhibits, join behind-the-scenes tours, take boat trips to look for marine mammals, and visit seasonal attractions. The institution, formerly called the Virginia Marine Science Museum, also runs education programs, camps, and conservation work such as a stranding response program. Its exhibits occupy more than 800,000 gallons of fresh and saltwater displays.
