Vogel sits within Chattahoochee National Forest and is one of Georgia's oldest state parks. Visitors can hike trails of varying difficulty, including a loop to a waterfall and a long backcountry route. The park has a lake open to non-motorized boats, a mountain-view beach in summer, cottages, campsites, and primitive backpacking sites. Many of its facilities were built by Civilian Conservation Corps workers in the 1930s, and a seasonal CCC museum tells their story. Fall foliage draws many visitors.
