Greek Revival house on a Cincinnati hilltop where the 27th U.S. president was born and grew up.
2038 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45219 · Cincinnati, OH
This National Park Service site preserves the two-story Greek Revival home where William Howard Taft was born and spent his childhood. Set on a prominent hill in Cincinnati's Mount Auburn Historic District, about a mile north of downtown, the house shows how his family's values of hard work, education, and civic duty shaped his character and philosophy. Visitors can take guided tours of the historic house, which are offered on each day the park is open, or explore its furnished rooms on their own. Next door, the Taft Education Center offers interactive exhibits, an orientation film, a bookstore, and brochures. Admission to the park and its visitor center is free.
