About Wing House Museum

This house museum on South Jefferson Street in Coldwater preserves a Victorian home from the 1870s, built in a Second Empire style. Visitors can see how a family lived and worked in the late nineteenth century, when water was drawn from wells and fireplaces provided heat. The home was built for a young couple in 1875 and later passed through the Wing family, who owned it for three generations until 1974. The Branch County Historical Society bought the house that year to serve as its headquarters and a museum of county history. The house is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum hosts private catered lunches and dinners for groups.
