This cluster covers central Nebraska along and north of the Platte River, spanning Kearney, Grand Island, and Ord. Kearney sits on the historic Great Platte River Road corridor and is home to the Museum of Nebraska Art. Grand Island, about 40 miles east, is a regional hub known for Sandhill Crane migration viewing. Ord, roughly 70 miles north in the Loup Valley, hosts Nebraska's Junk Jaunt, a multi-town garage-sale trail held each fall.
