About Allis State Park

Allis State Park sits on Bear Hill in central Vermont. It opened in 1928 as the state's second developed park, on land once a working farm donated by Wallace Allis. Visitors can climb a fire lookout tower for panoramic views that reach the Green Mountains and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. A family-friendly loop trail winds through the hill, and a day use field offers picnic tables. Campers can choose tent or RV sites, lean-to shelters, or a secluded group area. A rentable open-log pavilion and two horseshoe pits round out the facilities.
