3688 Angel Oak Rd · Johns Island, SC
Angel Oak is a Southern live oak in a small City of Charleston park on Johns Island. The city puts the tree at 65 feet tall and 25.5 feet around, with a canopy that shades about 17,000 square feet, and estimates its age at 300 to 400 years. You walk the grounds around the trunk and under limbs that reach far out to the sides. A gift shop sells Lowcountry items, and leashed pets are allowed only in designated areas such as the picnic area.
