The Aquarium of Niagara opened in 1965 as one of the first inland aquariums to run on artificial seawater and is now a nonprofit. The Main Building holds rescued seals and sea lions, Humboldt penguins, jellyfish and a shark and stingray touch pool. Great Lakes 360, opened in July 2024 on the same campus, has 16 exhibits on Great Lakes habitats with fish, reptiles, amphibians and insects, and one ticket covers both buildings. Animal encounters and behind-the-scenes tours cost extra.
