About Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens

Bayou Bend is the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's house museum for American decorative arts, shown in the former home of civic leader Ima Hogg. John F. Staub designed the house in 1927 and 1928; Hogg gave it to the museum in 1957 and it opened to the public in 1966. Inside are furniture, silver, ceramics and paintings in period rooms, and the house sits on 14 acres of gardens in River Oaks. Start at the visitor center's orientation gallery; adult tickets are $14 and include the gardens, and children 12 and under are free.
