Memorial Park covers about 1,466 acres inside Houston's 610 Loop on the site of Camp Logan, a World War I Army camp, and opened in 1924 as a memorial to soldiers who died in that war. The 3-mile Seymour Lieberman Exercise Trail is the city's favorite running loop, and the Bayou Wilds south of Memorial Drive hold miles of wooded trails for runners and mountain bikers. The Land Bridge, opened in 2023, carries 100 acres of native prairie over a six-lane road, and the Eastern Glades have a boardwalk and water features. The park also has a public golf course, a tennis center and the Houston Arboretum. Parking is a mix of free and paid lots.
