Beaver Creek Valley State Park follows a narrow valley, up to 250 feet deep, cut by spring-fed East Beaver Creek in the Driftless Area of southeastern Minnesota. A quarter-mile trail from the day-use lot leads to Big Spring, the creek's source, and steeper trails climb the bluffs to overlooks. The creek has 2.3 miles of trout water, open year-round with catch-and-release in winter. April and May bring wildflowers and warblers. A vehicle permit costs $7 a day.
