Mystery Cave, the longest cave in Minnesota with over 13 miles of passages, lies under this Driftless Area park in southeast Minnesota. The one-hour scenic tour covers about three-quarters of a mile on paved paths past dripping formations and pools, at 48°F year round, and costs $15 for ages 13 and up. Above ground there are trout streams, camping and horse trails, plus Historic Forestville, a village kept as it looked in 1899. Cars need a $7 one-day state park permit. Phone GPS is often wrong here, so follow park directions.
