Founded in 1911, Brooklyn Botanic Garden covers 52 acres in Crown Heights. Highlights include the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden with its koi pond and Shinto shrine, the Cranford Rose Garden, and the Cherry Esplanade and Cherry Walk with more than 200 cherry trees. The Steinhardt Conservatory holds plants under glass all year, and the C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum keeps the second-oldest bonsai collection in the country. Spring brings cherry blossoms, summer brings roses and fall brings changing leaves.
